Lecture on Prospects for International Hydrogen Trade by Dr. Eric Cezne
On January 9th Dr. Eric Cezne delved into the future of international hydrogen trade. Hydrogen has traditionally been produced and consumed locally, but with the rise of green hydrogen, global trade opportunities are expanding. This lecture explored the major hydrogen-exporting and importing countries, as well as current and potential trade routes.
Dr. Cezne also examined the development of the global hydrogen market, focusing on the challenges and opportunities it presents. As 85% of hydrogen is currently produced on-site within facilities, scaling up international trade will require overcoming logistical issues related to transport and storage. The lecture discussed how green hydrogen can be economically produced in regions with abundant renewable resources, available land, and access to water, and how these factors influence the development of trade hubs and global supply chains.
By analyzing the geopolitical implications of hydrogen trade, Dr. Cezne provided valuable insights into how international cooperation, infrastructure investments, and policy frameworks are shaping the future of hydrogen markets across the globe.
